Broiler Farm Lease Manager

This role would suit an experienced broiler grower or a working couple with strong livestock experience who value animal welfare, teamwork and a rural lifestyle.

The Opportunity

The successful applicant will:

  • Lease an established 7-shed broiler farm at Woodlands’ Glasshouse Mountains complex.
  • Operate as an independent contractor, managing day-to-day farm operations and labour.
  • Grow broilers under contract to Woodlands Enterprises, producing birds to agreed welfare, performance and quality standards.

This is a genuine business opportunity, not a wage-based role.

Farm and Infrastructure

  • 7 tunnel-ventilated sheds with automated controllers.
  • On-site modern 4-bedroom residence included.
  • Feed, chicks and technical support supplied by Woodlands Enterprises.
  • Backed by a dedicated broiler services, maintenance and support team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Independently manage all daily farm operations, including:
    • Bird care, feeding, ventilation and flock performance.
    • Staff employment, supervision and rostering.
  • Maintain high standards of:
    • Animal welfare and RSPCA compliance.
    • Biosecurity, hygiene and safety.
  • Manage farm utilities, routine maintenance and consumables.
  • Monitor performance data and work collaboratively with Woodlands Enterprises’ broiler team.

Support Provided

You will be supported by:

  • Experienced broiler service staff.
  • Nutrition, veterinary and technical specialists.
  • Centralised feed supply and logistics.
  • Maintenance support for major infrastructure.

About You

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience growing broiler chickens (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of animal welfare, biosecurity and compliance standards.
  • Experience managing staff and operating a farm business.
  • A hands-on, self-motivated approach and willingness to live on-site.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and partnership.

Applicants with strong livestock experience and the right mindset will be considered. Training support is available.

Contract & Remuneration

  • Long-term farm lease with broiler growing contract.
  • Payment based on bird placements and production outcomes.
