Plumber / Gas Fitter

Reporting to the Plumbing Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair, installation and upgrade of plumbing systems across Woodlands’ sites.

This is a varied, practical role suited to someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems on site, and contributing to a safety-focused team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair and maintain water, plumbing, heating and gas systems
  • Maintain and upgrade water treatment facilities
  • Install and repair hot and cold water and gas pipework
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across buildings and sheds
  • Maintain accurate records, tools and equipment
  • Assist with sourcing materials and job preparation
  • Participate in on-call duties as required
  • Comply with all WHS, environmental and safety procedures
  • Undertake other duties within the scope of the role as required

About the role

This is a unique role that requires someone that has experience supervising staff or looking to take the next step in their poultry career.

The Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of; production, quality assurance, Workplace Health and Safety within the Hatchery so as to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of operations.  The incumbent shall ensure that production and customer needs are met on a timely basis.  This role is to ensure tasks are carried out daily with the resources provided by the Hatchery Manager.

As this role is critical, the appointed supervisor will be required to participate on the on-call roster to respond to hatchery alarms in a timely manner and will be required to live near the hatchery in Beerwah.  Woodlands may be able to assist with accommodation.

What does a typical day look like?

  • Your day will start at 4am at our Beerwah Hatchery
  • Supervise the day-to-day operational requirements of the hatchery to ensure an efficient and effective operation.
  • Perform monitoring and recording of the hatchery processes.
  • Supervise the chicken take off and counting, designating chicken numbers to be placed per shed for deliveries.
  • Supervise the cold room tasks/functions e.g. traying up, grading and preparation of sales orders.
  • Prepare vaccine for processes (on an as required basis).
  • Assist hatchery manager in staff supervision.
  • Perform out of hours Hatchery duties including monitoring of alarms on a rotational 24hour call basis.
  • Identify / monitor maintenance requirements of the hatchery and notify the hatchery manager.
  • Monitor consumable stock levels and advise manager when low.
  • Issue and control Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the Hatchery Staff.
  • Assist with the implementation, development and on-going improvement of the Quality Assurance and Workplace Health and Safety systems.

This role is for a general duties labourer with immediate start.

  • 4AM start
  • some heavy lifting required
  • duties will include cleaning daily

Woodlands have a position vacant for a receptionist.   This is a casual position that could suit someone wanting to work “school hours” approx. 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday, or someone looking to re-enter the workforce. The successful applicant should have:

Property Manager

A Sunshine Coast Company requires the services of an experienced Property Manager to maintain an extensive private rent roll consisting of approx. 90 properties (houses and land leases).   The duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Preparing rental and lease documents and ensuring they are fully completed correctly (including entry and exit condition reports, entry notices, breach notices, etc);
  • Complying with RTA regulations and have a good working knowledge of same;
  • Dealing with various service providers ie Council, Telstra, Energy Companies etc;
  • Liaising with Maintenance Dept and outside contractors to organise repairs and ensure they are completed to satisfaction;
  • Preparation of weekly rent reports and invoices;
  • Calculation of excess water charges and any other sundry charges;
  • Ensure all records are maintained and kept up to date;
  • Follow up any outstanding rent / lease payments;
  • Do regular inspections of properties, complete inspection reports, and organise any necessary maintenance jobs;
  • Be flexible as duties may vary and be unique to position.

The ideal applicant will have

  • a good knowledge of the local area and have broad experience in property management, or as a prerequisite be prepared to do a course on property management;
  • Good organisation skills;
  • Current drivers licence;
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.

The preferred hours of work will be Monday to Friday 8am – 2:30 pm but can be flexible.   Remuneration package to be discussed at interview.
