About the role
This is a unique role that requires someone that has experience working at this level previously or looking to take the next step in their poultry career.
The Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of; production, quality assurance, Workplace Health and Safety within the Hatchery so as to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of operations. The incumbent shall ensure that production and customer needs are met on a timely basis. This role is to ensure tasks are carried out daily with the resources provided by the Hatchery Manager or Senior Supervisor.
As this role is critical, the appointed supervisor will be required to participate on the on-call roster to respond to hatchery alarms in a timely manner and will be required to live near the hatchery in Beerwah.
What does a typical day look like?
- Your day will start at 4am at our Beerwah Hatchery
- Supervise the day-to-day operational requirements of the hatchery to ensure an efficient and effective operation.
- Perform monitoring and recording of the hatchery processes.
- Supervise the chicken take off and counting, designating chicken numbers to be placed per shed for deliveries.
- Supervise the cold room tasks/functions e.g. traying up, grading and preparation of sales orders.
- Prepare vaccine for processes (on an as required basis).
- Assist hatchery manager in staff supervision.
- Perform out of hours Hatchery duties including monitoring of alarms on a rotational 24hour call basis.
- Identify / monitor maintenance requirements of the hatchery and notify the hatchery manager.
- Monitor consumable stock levels and advise manager when low.
- Issue and control Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the Hatchery Staff.
- Assist with the implementation, development and on-going improvement of the Quality Assurance and Workplace Health and Safety systems.

Plumber
Based at Beerwah, we require a qualified plumber to assist in the maintaining the water equipment at Woodlands. The successful applicant should have experience in a wide range of water and heating equipment. Having experience with gas facilities would be an advantage. Electrician
A progressive Sunshine Coast hinterland company is looking for a qualified Electrician to undertake the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair, modification, and installation of electrical fixtures in sheds, buildings and other facilities at Woodlands. Maintenance worker
Woodlands is seeking an experience maintenance worker to maintain a wide range of farm equipment. The successful applicant would be exposed to a wide variety of tasks.
Skills and experience
Candidates should have the following skills and qualifications:
- Previous experience maintaining equipment on poultry farms e.g. augers, gearboxes etc is desirable;
- Welding experience is essential;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong work ethic;
- Reliable transport and drivers licence;
- Time management skills;
Feedmill worker
This role is for a general duties labourer in our Feedmill operation based at Beerwah with immediate start
- Forklift ticket required
- Some computer knowledge advantageous
- some heavy lifting required
- must be able to work in a dusty environment
- be able to work unsupervised
- be flexible in hours required to work
- Boiler ticket preferred but not essential
Welder
To work on a wide range of equipment. Must have experience in all aspects of welding – mig, tig, stick, oxy, plasma.
Hatchery Worker
This role is for a general duties labourer with immediate start.
- 4AM start
- some heavy lifting required
- duties will include cleaning daily
- be able to work unsupervised
- depending on duties allocated, Saturdays will be required.
- be flexible in hours required to work
- must have own reliable transport

HC Driver
Required for varied duties. Previous experience driving a HC class vehicle. Immediate start and not impacted by weather

Woodlands is seeking a qualified Panel Beater / Spray Painter to maintain a wide range of vehicles and farm equipment at the main site at Beerwah
Hours of work will generally be Monday to Friday, however some weekend work may be required depending on operational needs.

Skid steer/Telehandler operator
A progressive Sunshine Coast hinterland company is looking for an experienced skid steer/telehandler operator. The successful applicant should have extensive experience and current certificate. Immediate start and not impacted by weather events.
