Over the years Woodlands has grown to become one of the largest employers in the Beerwah area with a current workforce of approximately 190 employees.
As the major employer in the area, Woodlands’ staff are loyal with one employee recently retiring after 56 years of employment and a large number of staff celebrating over 15 years service with us.
Due to the size and complexity of the business, Woodlands employs a range of staff to work across various aspects of the business from working on poultry farm to shedding and equipment and transport the produce and equipment.
For Bio-Security purposes, our staff are unable to own, care or keep any avian species at home (i.e. birds, chickens, ducks etc) whilst employed at Woodlands.

Ongoing Positions
Hatchery Supervisor
- Your day will start at 4am at our Beerwah Hatchery
- Supervise the day-to-day operational requirements of the hatchery to ensure an efficient and effective operation.
- Perform monitoring and recording of the hatchery processes.
- Supervise the chicken take off and counting, designating chicken numbers to be placed per shed for deliveries.
- Supervise the cold room tasks/functions e.g. traying up, grading and preparation of sales orders.
- Prepare vaccine for processes (on an as required basis).
- Assist hatchery manager in staff supervision.
- Perform out of hours Hatchery duties including monitoring of alarms on a rotational 24hour call basis.
- Identify / monitor maintenance requirements of the hatchery and notify the hatchery manager.
- Monitor consumable stock levels and advise manager when low.
- Issue and control Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the Hatchery Staff.
- Assist with the implementation, development and on-going improvement of the Quality Assurance and Workplace Health and Safety systems.
- Previous experience working in a hatchery (is desirable)

- Previous experience maintaining equipment on poultry farms e.g. augers, gearboxes etc is desirable;

Hatchery Delivery Driver/Labourer
Labourer
Mechanic (EWP experience)
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic;
- Experience in working on forklifts, EWP’s or similar types of equipment;Candidates should have the following capabilities and competencies:
- Ability to carry out servicing, periodical inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs to equipment including EWPs and telehandlers;
- Demonstrate ability to carry out basic electrical and hydraulic fault diagnosis and rectification;
- Knowledge of the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1418.10:2011 Cranes, hoists and winches – Elevating work platforms;
- Attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong work ethic;

Electrician – Senior

Property Manager
- Preparing rental and lease documents and ensuring they are fully completed correctly (including entry and exit condition reports, entry notices, breach notices, etc);
- Complying with RTA regulations and have a good working knowledge of same;
- Dealing with various service providers ie Council, Telstra, Energy Companies etc;
- Liaising with Maintenance Dept and outside contractors to organise repairs and ensure they are completed to satisfaction;
- Preparation of weekly rent reports and invoices;
- Calculation of excess water charges and any other sundry charges;
- Ensure all records are maintained and kept up to date;
- Follow up any outstanding rent / lease payments;
- Do regular inspections of properties, complete inspection reports, and organise any necessary maintenance jobs;
- Be flexible as duties may vary and be unique to position.
- a good knowledge of the local area and have broad experience in property management, or as a prerequisite be prepared to do a course on property management;
- Good organisation skills;
- Current drivers licence;
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
